The Witch That Lives Inside Some Bibles
Memory Verse:
John 6:63 – “The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”
Bible Reading:
John 6:63 – “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”
Beware of the Witch in the Bible
Many Christians today carry Bibles that are filled with life-changing words, yet some do not experience the full power of those words. This is because there is a hidden “witch” in many Bibles, a witch that steals the power of God’s Word, causing it to be of no effect in the life of a believer. This “witch” is the spirit of unbelief, confusion, and laziness that prevents the Word of God from being activated in one’s life. It’s time to expose this witch and remove its influence, so one can fully experience the life and power that God’s Word offers.
The Bible says that the words of Jesus are spirit and life (John 6:63). This means that when one opens their Bible, they are not just reading mere letters or stories, but they are connecting to the life-giving power of the Almighty God. However, when one fails to believe in the power of God’s Word, they allow a spirit of doubt to enter, and this “witch” weakens the impact of the Word. In fact, many Christians read their Bibles every day, but the words do not change their lives because they do not believe that those words are alive and active.
The Root of the Witch Inside the Bible
This spirit of unbelief is often nurtured by distractions, lack of understanding, and spiritual laziness. The enemy knows that when one begins to truly believe and act on the Word of God, nothing can stop them. So, the witch inside the Bible is designed to keep them from believing. It makes one think that the Word of God is powerless and ineffective, even when they read it. The enemy wants individuals to think that Bible verses are just ancient stories with no relevance to their current struggles.
For instance, when the Bible says that “the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds” (2 Corinthians 10:4), the enemy will whisper, “That was for the early Christians, not for today.” But that is a lie! The weapons of spiritual warfare are as powerful today as they were in the time of the apostles. When one believes it and activates it in their life, those words will break every chain holding them down.
The Power of the Word
To deal with this hidden witch inside the Bible, one must first understand the power of God’s Word. The Bible tells us that the Word of God is quick (alive) and powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword, and able to pierce even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit (Hebrews 4:12). It is a weapon that works in both the physical and spiritual realms. The problem is not with the Bible itself; the problem is with how one approaches the Bible. Do they read it as if it is just another book, or do they approach it as a weapon of life and victory?
When one opens the Bible and prays over it, they activate the power within it. The Bible itself is filled with life, but if one does not believe in that life, it cannot change their situation. Faith activates the power of God’s Word. It is through belief that the words become alive and start to work in one’s life. God is not a man that He should lie; His promises are sure. The Bible is the key to everything needed in life—healing, prosperity, deliverance. But if one allows the witch of unbelief to whisper in their ear, the Word will not work for them.
How to Break the Curse of Unbelief
To break the curse of unbelief and remove the witch from the Bible, several actions must be taken:
1. Believe the Word – When reading the Bible, a believer must believe that every promise in it is for them today. The Word of God is as relevant now as it was thousands of years ago. It works in every situation, no matter how tough.
2. Speak the Word – The Bible tells us that “death and life are in the power of the tongue” (Proverbs 18:21). When the Word of God is spoken, life and power are released into situations. The believer must speak the Word of God over their life daily. They must not allow the witch of unbelief to make them silent.
3. Act on the Word – Faith without works is dead (James 2:26). If a believer believes the Word of God, they must act on it. If the Bible says that they are healed by the stripes of Jesus, they must start acting like they are healed. They should not wait for feelings; they must walk in the truth of the Word.
4. Pray with the Word – Every time one prays, they should use the Word of God as their prayer. When praying with the Word, spiritual warfare is engaged, and God’s will is enforced in one’s life.
5. Feed the Spirit with the Word – The more one reads and meditates on God’s Word, the stronger their faith becomes. A believer must make a habit of filling their heart with the Word every day, especially when the witch of unbelief tries to creep in.
Victory Over the Witch Inside the Bible
When a believer begins to believe, speak, act on, and pray with the Word of God, they will experience victory over the witch of unbelief. The Word will no longer be empty words in a book; it will be a sword in their hands, bringing victory and deliverance to every area of their life. The Bible says that they are more than conquerors through Christ who loves them (Romans 8:37). The power to overcome every obstacle is already within them. They must only believe.
As these principles are applied, a believer will see the difference in their life. They will walk in victory, and the enemy will tremble because they know that the power of God’s Word is active in the believer. The witch that lives inside some Bibles will be cast out, and the believer will begin to experience the fullness of God’s Word in every aspect of their life.
